TULSA, Oklahoma -- Workers are installing new LED technology for taxiway edge lighting at Tulsa International Airport and Jones Riverside Airport.
Airport officials say crews are also replacing a significant number of the regulators that power various airfield lighting circuits at both airports.
All of the equipment being replaced will result in energy savings.
"Tulsa Airport Authority is acutely aware of the need to implement sustainable practices." said Jeff Mulder, Airports Director. "We are doing this through a variety of methods and we continue to search out new ways to shrink our environmental footprint and reduce our annual operating costs".
The project is expected to take 6-12 months to complete.
