OKMULGEE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- The Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office is investigating the discovery of an extensively decomposed male body found on Friday, April 8, 2011.

A news release from the sheriff's office says the body was found in the Twin Hills area near the Okmulgee and Muskogee county line.

Officials decline to speculate if the body is that of Hitchita resident Chris Shelton, 36, who was last seen February 15, 2011, at a friend's house near Haskell.
