TULSA, Oklahoma -- Ronald McDonald teamed up with News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer and Radar The Weather Dog to serve up a lesson in severe weather safety Monday.

Students at Tulsa's Cherokee Elementary took part in the McReady program Monday morning.  They learned about Oklahoma's dangerous weather and how to stay safe.

April is McReady month and News on Six has teamed up with McDonalds to educate families about severe weather safety.

A storm supply kit is essential when it comes to planning for severe weather.  You should stock up on items like water, nonperishable foods, blankets, and batteries.
