SEMINOLE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a driver eastbound on I-40 in Seminole Sunday afternoon was attempting to inject herself with methamphetamine when she lost control of her vehicle causing it to go off the highway and roll numerous times.

Troopers say 51-year-old Ella Hyslop of Quinton was taken by ambulance to hospital in Okemah where she was treated and released.

Her passenger, 29-year-old Ladawna Hyslop of Oklahoma City was flown by medical helicopter to an Oklahoma City hospital. Her condition is listed as serious.

The crash occurred on a section of I-40 which was under construction at the time.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say the driver's seat belt was not in use at the time of the crash.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to free both driver and passenger from the wreckage.
