Claremore Police Standoff Ends Peacefully

A standoff in the 100 block of East 10th Street South has ended peacefully, according to Claremore Police.

CLAREMORE, Oklahoma -- Claremore Police ended a standoff at a residence without incident Saturday evening.

The standoff took place in the 100 block of East 10th Street South.

A man was armed and apparently distraught over a divorce. The Claremore police department confirmed that there were no apparent injuries as a result of the standoff or domestic dispute.

"We had a successfully ending," said Claremore Chief of Police Stan Brown. "The person finally surrendered himself outside the house."

The man was transported for a mental health evaluation, Brown said.

Rogers County 911 handled all Claremore emergency calls during the incident, according to Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton. Tulsa SWAT also assisted Claremore officers.
