ARLINGTON, Texas – A Mustang man was arrested in Arlington, Texas Thursday for soliciting nude images of children on the internet, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said.
The OSBI said Christopher Lafever was arrested on a warrant out of Coal County, Oklahoma, for lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16, four counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology, and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
According to the OSBI, deputies said Lafever contacted a Coal County boy on Facebook and sent him text messages, asking the boy send nude images of himself in exchange for autographed motocross gear.
In addition to the boy, investigators learned there were three other instances in which Lafever was suspected of soliciting nude images from children, the OSBI said.
According to the OSBI, investigators learned Lafever would be at the Arlington, Texas Motor Speedway on March 31, 2011.
They contacted the Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, who conducted an undercover investigation into Lafever. The OSBI said Lafever immediately solicited nude images from a child and agreed to meet the child at the Motor Speedway, but was instead met by task members and officers of the Arlington Police Department.
Lafever was arrested and booked into the Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth. In addition to the charges in Oklahoma, he is being held on a Texas charge of soliciting sexual contact or communication with a minor. His bond was set at $100,000.
The OSBI said Lafever was previously charged in Canadian County, Oklahoma on February, 4, 2011, for one count of Unlawful Communication with a Minor by Use of Technology.
