Since then, students have been talking to Commander Cathy Lovelace on Skype. But now, she's back from her tour of duty.

On Tuesday, she sat down with students for a chance to talk face to face. She says their "virtual" friendship was a big stress reliever and something she really looked forward to.

"The hour we may have to speak to students or to speak to someone back home is extremely important and it's like opening a present, you can wait to do it and you anticipate it all day," she said.

Lovelace told students all about her experience overseas and had lots of pictures to go along with her talk.
