TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Public Schools was recognized from the state Friday for its effort to go green.
At a ceremony Friday morning, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality gave the district a plaque for its recent award of a Clean Diesel grant.
TPS used the $75,000 dollar grant to retrofit diesel school buses to lower emissions and improve air quality. The district has already converted 140 buses in its fleet to compressed natural gas.
