TPS Employee Charged With Child Sexual Abuse

TULSA, Oklahoma – A Tulsa Public Schools employee was charged Monday with six counts of child sexual abuse.

According to an arrest report, Jackie Thurmond Jr., 50, turned himself in on March 16, 2011.

Details of the incident are unknown, but court records said it happened on March 1, 2009.

Thurmond's statements were redacted on his arrest and booking report, but the report said his statement was "corroborated by the victim's statements to her mother and sister."

According to his Facebook page, Thurmond has worked as a mechanic at Tulsa Public Schools since 1980.
