BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- A Broken Arrow woman who has been taking care of an injured kangaroo named Irwin may have to give him up.
A Broken Arrow city code prohibits citizens from owning wild and exotic animals.
Christie Carr adopted the one-year-old kangaroo from a facility she volunteered at. Irwin broke his neck in an accident a few months ago and Carr has been nursing the kangaroo back to health in her Broken Arrow home.
Carr is asking the Broken Arrow city Council for an exemption to the code.
Carr said the council considered the item at Tuesday's meeting, but delayed a decision until next month.
