Carrie Netherton joined 918moms.com as a reporter and content producer in September 2010. Netherton was born and raised in Oklahoma and is proud of it! She grew up in Grove, graduated from Perry High School and received a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from The University of Oklahoma.
Journalism runs deep in Netherton's family. Her sister, Ginnie Graham, and uncle, John Klein, are both reporters for The Tulsa World. Netherton herself brings with her more than 13 years of reporting experience. While in college, she interned for both News On 6 and News 9 in Oklahoma City. She then began her career as a reporter for KOAM in Joplin, Missouri and also worked at WOI and WHO in Des Moines, Iowa before returning to Tulsa. Back in her home state, Netherton worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at Fox23 for six years. Now, she thinks it's quite fitting to return to the same station where she completed her first television internship.
Netherton and her husband welcomed a baby boy into their family in June of 2009. She believes her work with 918moms.com, discussing parenthood with others who are experiencing the same issues and milestones, has helped her become a better mother. Netherton is also an avid jogger. She's completed two half marathons, six Tulsa Runs and countless 10K and 5K runs. She also loves watching sports, especially college football. She's also a "TV junkie," enjoys reading books and cooking.
