State School Superintendent To Spend Friday At Sapulpa Public Schools

SAPULPA, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma's state Superintendent of Schools will be spending Friday, March 4th at Sapulpa Public Schools.

Sapulpa Public Schools superintendent Dr. Mary Webb says Freedom Elementary School invited Janet Barresi to visit their school and Woodlawn Elementary School.

Both schools are being honored with GE Model School designations on Friday.

For Freedom, this is their fifth award and for Woodlawn, this is their first GE Model School award.

Superintendent of Schools, Janet Barresi's schedule:

  • 9:45 – 10:00    Greeted at Freedom Elementary
  • 10:00 – 11:00  Attend Freedom GE Model School Ceremony
  • 11:00 – 11:30  Tour Freedom Elementary
  • 11:30 – 11:45  Travel to Woodlawn Elementary (front door)
  • 11:45 – 12:30  Tour Woodlawn /eat lunch
  • 12:30 – 12:40  Drive to SHS Main Entrance / Walk to Engineering and Robotics Class
  • 12:40 – 1:05    Visit with engineering students / Robot demonstration
  • 1:05 – 1:15      Walk to Shaw Auditorium
  • 1:15-2:15        Attend Woodlawn GE Model School Ceremony
  • 2:15- 2:30      Walk to East bus loop to view and discuss new school across street
  • 2:30                Depart Sapulpa

Also attending the events at the two Sapulpa schools will be state Senator Brian Bingman and state Representative Mark McCullough.
