TULSA, Oklahoma -- Professional and amateur storm spotters came out in force for the annual Tulsa SKYWARN Conference held Saturday at the OU Schusterman Center.

News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot was there as Tulsa Area Emergency Management and OKArkSkywarn led a conference with topics including radar technology and severe thunderstorm observation.

Spotters work in the field to provide information back to meteorologists who are tracking severe weather.

Spotters learned about new radar technology that will be introduced in the next year called Dual-Pol radar.

The training is just in time for expected severe weather on Sunday night as a cold front moves into Green Country.
