TULSA, Oklahoma -- Athleticism and artistry combine at the BOK Center this week.

Cirque du Soleil's show Alegria brings 55 performers and musicians from 15 different countries.

A performance typically features elaborate costumes and make-up, but Wednesday, the performers let our cameras back stage during rehearsal.

The contortionists say anybody can work on flexibility, but it takes years to become this limber.

"We born naturally flexible but we train a lot with a really good coach to be safe at the same time because it's hard," said Ulziibuyan Mergen. "It isn't just bending. It's controlling the back. It's so hard. We need lots of strength to do it. It's practice. Lots of practice."

Alegria is a Spanish word which means happiness, joy, and jubiliation.  The show runs through Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the BOK Center.
