Preliminary Hearing For Tulsa Doctor Charged With Rape To Continue In March

TULSA, Oklahoma – The preliminary hearing for a Tulsa doctor accused of sexually assaulting one of his patients has been continued until mid-March.

Dr. Richard Irwin is charged with first degree rape, forcible sodomy and indecent exposure.

The hearing began Wednesday at the Tulsa County Courthouse and according to court records, after hearing testimony from two witnesses, the hearing was recessed and set to resume March 18, 2011 at 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Irwin worked at Tulsa Developmental Pediatrics and specializes in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.

In the arrest affidavit, one of Dr. Irwin's patients say the doctor sexually assaulted him over 20 years and told him to keep it a secret.
