Red Oak Man Sentenced For Mining Safety Violation

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma – A Red Oak man was sentenced Wednesday to one year of supervised release for failing to provide training to new miners, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma said.

Gregory Bryce, 50, is accused of "knowingly" allowing miners to work without receiving the necessary number of training hours in November 2007.

Bryce was a mine superintendent for Farrell-Cooper Mining Company.

As part of his sentencing, he also had to surrender his MSHA instructor's license.
