Two Held Without Bond In Fort Gibson Child Abuse Investigation

A Fort Gibson man and woman are being held without bond after a teenage boy called police to report abuse. The teen was found hiding in a mobile home closet, armed with a knife.

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- A Fort Gibson man and woman are in the Muskogee County Jail on complaints of child abuse, neglect and rape.

Muskogee County Chief Deputy Sheriff Scott Hughart said 28-year-old Jennifer Edwards and 64-year-old Jesse Wilson, Sr. are being held without bond.

A teenage boy called police from a mobile home closet where he had taken shelter, armed with a knife. He told police that he and a 9-year-old child were being abused.

Hughart said both children had been missing from school for seven days when the call came in Monday night from the Fort Gibson trailer park.

Jesse Wilson, Sr. was booked on complaints of rape, lewd molestation and forcible sodomy. Jennifer Edwards was booked on complaints of child neglect, child endangerment and failure to protect.

The children were taken into custody by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services.

Hughart said there may be further arrests in the case.
