TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Rotary Club of Tulsa held their annual Above and Beyond Service Award luncheon Wednesday to recognize the Tulsa police officer and firefighter of the year.

Jason Large was honored for saving a man whose car was stranded in flood waters and Detective Darren Carlock was recognized for his work with the Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit.

Both men say they're humbled by the high praise.

"It's my job and I'm just going to do the best I can with it and hopefully what I'm able to accomplish is able to find some justice for some kids," Detective Carlock said.

"Tulsa Fire Department, there's no individuals, we're all a team," Large said. "And I just want to make sure they get recognized because without them I couldn't have done anything."

The winners took home a trophy and a night's stay at the downtown DoubleTree Hotel.
