TULSA, Oklahoma -- Residents of Stonegate Village Apartments were victimized sometime Friday night by vandals who slashed tires on about 30 vehicles. The complex is located at 7218 S. 89th E. Avenue, just southeast of 71st and Memorial.

Kayla Washington said she came home at about 9:30 p.m., and when her mother went out to walk to the dog they discovered flat tires on their vehicle.

"We came out, and we noticed that there were about 30 other cars that had their tires on flat," she said. "There's, like - all throughout the apartment complex - there's a lot."

Other residents expressed their anger over the senseless act, wondering how much it will cost to replace the damaged tires.

At midnight, residents were in the parking lot surveying the damage. Several said they were filing police reports, though officers told them there was little they could do.

Rene Satoe said one of the cars belongs to a resident's grandmother who was visiting from out of state.

"She doesn't know how she's going to get back home," Satoe said, adding that the apartment complex needs security patrolling the parking lot.

Matthew Cordle said he didn't know what it would cost him until he took his car in to see if the tire could be repaired.

"That somebody would take the time out of the day to do something like this when they could be doing better things," he said. "It's cost money to people that might not have the money to fix it."

"It's crazy," Washington said, wondering who would spent time in the cold temperatures to cost other people time, inconvenience and money.

"Trashy people, I guess," she said.
