Corps Trying To Determine How To Lift Submerged Crane From Oklahoma Lake

KAW LAKE, Oklahoma -- The Corps of Engineers should know next week how to lift a submerged crane out of Kaw Lake, near Ponca City.

A survey team is studying options now. The crane plunged into the lake yesterday while it was trying to lift one of the dam's flood gates.

The Corps installed booms around the crane to keep fuel from spreading out. The dam itself was only slightly damaged and the road over it is now open.
