TULSA, Oklahoma -- The man who police believe was involved in a Christmas day homicide of a homeless man turned himself in Sunday.

Tulsa Police say 43-year-old Paul Joseph Sopsher surrendered at the department's Gilcrease division around 3 p.m.

Sopsher is suspected of beating to death 51-year-old Russell Leon Smith Jr early Christmas morning. Police say Sopsher used a blunt object, possibly a lead pipe.

Smith's body was found on a loading dock in the 100 block of North Cheyenne in Downtown Tulsa.

Sopsher was questioned by detectives and booked into the Tulsa County Jail under a 1st degree murder complaint.
