Driver Sets Off Chain Reaction Crash After Hitting Abandoned Car On Tulsa Highway

TULSA, Oklahoma – A man was rushed to the hospital late Friday evening after crashing his car into an abandoned truck which caused anther collision.

It happened around 11:00 p.m. on the westbound lanes of I-244 just east of Hwy 11.

Police say a 30-year-old man driving a Nissan truck lost control, crossed four lanes of traffic and slammed into an abandoned Chevrolet pickup parked on the shoulder of the highway.

The collision pushed the abandoned truck into oncoming traffic where it was hit by a Nissan Sentra.

The victim in the Nissan truck was rushed to a hospital in serious condition with unknown injuries. The driver of the Nissan Sentra was said to be ok.

Troopers said they noticed an odor of alcohol on the driver of the Nissan truck who hit the abandoned car, but the investigation is still ongoing.

The incident shut down westbound I-244 for more than an hour.
