TURLEY, Oklahoma -- A Turley home was the site of a home invasion burglary in the early hours of Sunday morning. Sergeant Craig Bivins of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Department said the residents responded to a knock on their door at 2 a.m. and were confronted with a man and woman holding "some type of long gun."
The suspects entered the house in the 7500 block of North Trenton, taking cash and other items. Officers believe the couple then took off southbound in what is thought to be a black Nissan or Toyota. One suspect was wearing a black jacket, the other a pink jacket.
The man and woman living at the home were uninjured, Bivins said. They told him they cooperated with the suspects.
"There's just not a whole lot of options you've got when you're staring down the barrel of either a rifle or a shotgun," he said.
He cautioned against opening your door if you cannot identify the person knocking, especially at that time of night.
Deputies were actively searching for the couple overnight Sunday.
