Big Changes Soon

Enjoy the weather today because major changes will occur tomorrow leading to a very cold arctic air mass over the region for a few days before warming by the middle of next week.  Afternoon highs will move into the mid and upper 50s today with another mix of sun and clouds.  Light southeast wind will be prevalent for most of our immediate area of concern.

The initial wind shift will move across the region early tomorrow morning between 7AM and 10AM but the real deal cold air may lag the wind shift by a hundred miles or so. This creates a strange temperature forecast for Saturday.  We'll start around 40 and then move into the upper 40s or even the lower 50s around Noon before seeing the temperatures drop by early afternoon into the 30s.  North winds will increase by midday and wind chill values will be in the 20s Saturday afternoon.

A few spotty showers are possible early Saturday across eastern OK and a few brief showers may be possible during the afternoon as the main surge of cold air arrives.  No snow is expected and very little precipitation will occur.  We have kept our shower chances in the 20% category.

The arctic surface high will build into the nation with impacts across the state trough Monday before sliding eastward Tuesday and Wednesday.  A surface low will form across southwestern OK Tuesday night and move slowly eastward Wednesday evening before passing the area Thursday with north winds and slightly colder air Thursday and Friday. A few showers may be possible Wednesday or Thursday across extreme eastern OK but this chance also remains around or less than 20%.

I discovered a massive leak from my wife's car last night.  Great.  Car problems drive me crazy. Anyway….I'll be exploring that issue later today.  Have a fun and safe weekend.
