Four Injured After Car Strikes Horse In Road South Of Skiatook

SKIATOOK, Oklahoma -- An Owasso resident and three Sperry residents were taken to Tulsa and Owasso hospitals after the car they were in struck a horse in the road early Wednesday morning in Osage County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the car driven by 20-year-old Kyle Bowman was northbound on North 20th West Avenue about four miles south of Skiatook, when he encountered a horse in the roadway at about 2:20 a.m. 

After striking the horse, the car left the road and crashed into a ditch.

Troopers say the driver and one passenger, 17-year-old Brea Beeler were using their seat belt. Both suffered injuries.

Three other passengers in the car, 18-year-old Christian Turney, 18-year-old Anthony Lynch and 21-year-old Levi Rosson were not. Turney and Lynch were injured in the crash, Rosson was not.

No word if the horse survived the crash.
