Elderly Man Killed In West Tulsa Crash

TULSA, Oklahoma – An elderly man died Thursday night when he lost control of his van on a Tulsa street and hit a utility pole, Tulsa Police said.

It happened about 6:30 p.m. at 38th and Southwest Boulevard in West Tulsa.

Officers said they're not sure what caused the man to go off the road.

"We're not sure if he had a medical condition that may have contributed to this accident, but right now we're doing the investigation," Tulsa Police Sergeant Rex Mann said.

Tulsa Police said man was in his 80's. His name has not been released.

The accident knocked out power in the area for a few hours.
