TULSA, Oklahoma -- An early Monday morning crash on I-244 injures a Tulsa Police officer.

The wreck occurred just before 1:30 a.m. on I-244 east of Yale.

Tulsa Police officer Jason Willingham said the K-9 officer was trying to keep his dog in the backseat cage when the officer lost control of the patrol car.

The patrol car hit a guardrail and after overcorrecting, the patrol car went back across all four lanes of traffic before hitting the center median.

The police officer was taken to a Tulsa hospital with minor injuries, where he was treated and released.  The dog was not injured.
