Broken Arrow Native Kristin Chenoweth Inducted Into Oklahoma Hall Of Fame

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Broken Arrow native Kristin Chenoweth was inducted into the 83rd Oklahoma Hall of Fame Thursday night at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.

The Tony and Emmy Award winning singer and actress said she never thought she'd even be considered to be in the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

"Because I know who's come before me and I'm in very good company, " Chenoweth said.  "Not only is it special for me but it's incredibly special for my family told them since I'm still single at this age to think of this as my wedding, to just have fun and enjoy the meal."

Other inductees in the 2010 Oklahoma Hall of Fame were Robert A. Hefner, III, Edward F. Keller, Judy Love, Michael Turpen, and Lew O. Ward, III.

"Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor Oklahomans can receive for their contributions to our state," said Shannon Rich, president of the Oklahoma Heritage Association and Gaylord-Pickens Museum.

Chenoweth said this particular honor has a special meaning to her.

"You can win a lot of awards in this life but when you're recognized from the people who know you the longest and the best, it's more of a reward than an award," Chenoweth said.
