TULSA, Oklahoma -- Wednesday ended on a high note for students at Central High School in Tulsa.
Fidelity Investments donated nearly a dozen instruments to the school's music program. Band Director Jeff Lyles gathered the students in the auditorium for the big surprise. With a drum roll, the red curtain pulled back to reveal the new instruments.
"Being a trumpet player myself to look at this and hand this to a student and say you get to play a brand new trumpet that's never been played, that's something that maybe some of them will never to experience again," said Jeff Lyles, Central High Band Director.
Fidelity donated more than $20,000 in instruments, including flutes, trumpets, and a sousaphone.
