TULSA, Oklahoma -- A bird of prey stopped by a News On 6 SKYCAM for a cameo appearance Tuesday morning in downtown Tulsa.
The Red-Tailed Hawk is a common sight across Oklahoma and Kansas as they are often seen perching on fence posts, telephone poles and tree limbs, as they look for small prey.
According to Wikipedia, the hawk is a member of the genus Buteo, a group of medium-sized raptors with robust bodies and broad wings.
The Red-tailed Hawk also has significance in Native American culture. Its feathers are considered sacred by some tribes, and are used in religious ceremonies.
