PRYOR, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa man has died after he decided to exit a truck while it was moving Wednesday afternoon in Mayes County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 33-year-old Scott Griffin was pronounced dead at a Pryor hospital following the incident on state Highway 82 just north of Locust Grove.

Troopers say Griffin was a passenger in a 2002 Chevy Avalanche driven by 33-year-old April Flemming when he and Flemming began arguing.  Troopers say Griffin then got out of the Avalanche while it was in motion, striking his head on the pavement.

Troopers say Flemming and her three other unidentified passengers then left the scene.

The OHP says Flemming was located and arrested after the trooper detected the odor of alcoholic beverages.

Flemming was booked into the Mayes County jail on complaints of DUI, driving while suspended and leaving scene of an accident which resulted in an injury or death.
