TULSA, Oklahoma -- A memorial service for Captain George C. Green of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 30 at the Olivet Baptist Church in Tulsa. Green died Wednesday, a day after his patrol vehicle collided with a dump truck in Sapulpa.

The collision investigation is pending, according to Lt. George Brown, Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Green is survived by a wife and two adult sons.

He graduated from the 37th Oklahoma Highway Patrol academy in 1979. He served in several Troop assignments including Oklahoma City, Tonkawa, and Tulsa detachments. He was most recently troop commander of the Kilpatrick, Cimarron and Turner Turnpikes.

Captain Green earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, formerly Central State University. He was an Oklahoma firearms instructor, Advanced CLEET instructor and certified scuba diver.

The Olivet Baptist Church is located at 155 N. 65th W. Avenue in Tulsa. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Chaplain Rev. Sam Garner and Rev. Ron Davis will officiate. Floral arrangements may be sent to Mobley-Dodson Funeral Home at 211 E. Broadway, Sand Springs, Oklahoma. 74063.
