Short term forecast issues revolve around storms and the potential for severe weather the rest of the day today and again Sunday afternoon or evening. Longer term issues are largely dealing with temperatures and how cool it will be later in the week.
First things first and that is the ongoing showers and storms that are affecting most of the viewing area at this time. Although this will get most of us wet, the timing is such that the greatest threat of severe appears to be confined to the extreme eastern and SE counties of our state for the afternoon and into the evening hours. As this activity moves on eastward, we will be left with some lingering showers till about midnight or so and then a low overcast to start the day on Sunday.
