OKEMAH, Oklahoma -- The lewd molestation charges filed in 2009 against former Pocola School Superintendent Bruce Shelley were dismissed this week at the request of the county prosecutor.
Okfuskee County court records show a motion was filed asking the charges be dismissed without prejudice and a judge signing the order.
In October 2009, an Okfuskee County judge ordered Shelley's trial on the charges.
Shelley was accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. He had just taken the job as Pocola School superintendent on July 1, 2009 when he was charged on July 14, 2009.
The Pocola School board has since hired another person as the district's superintendent.
