TULSA, Oklahoma -- The passenger in a wrecked car accidentally jumped off a Broken Arrow Expressway bridge and fell about 60 feet, Tulsa police say.

Police say they don't know if the man was fleeing the scene or running for help, but he apparently did not realize how far above the ground he was when he jumped over the retaining wall at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday on the westbound Broken Arrow Expressway near the Lewis exit.

The man was transported to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition, according to the police.

Tulsa Police Captain Mark Secrist said the driver of the car was intoxicated and was taken into custody at the scene.

While Tulsa Police were working the accident scene, another drunk driver came up the Lewis exit the wrong way and collided with the first wrecked car, nearly hitting a fire truck.

That driver was also taken into custody.
