TULSA, Oklahoma -- The old sea lion exhibit at the Tulsa Zoo is being demolished to make way for a new one.

Skateboarders have been eyeing the old exhibit for a long time. Thursday was their one and only chance to ride the concrete tubes.

Crews are tearing down the exhibit to make room for the new Helmerich Sea Lion Cove. The Zoo says once work is done, they'll have a lot more room and a new underwater viewing glass.

But that's not all.

"It's actually going to have seating for the demonstration areas, so that's going to really be a huge improvement over the exhibit that we have now," said Angela Evans of the Tulsa Zoo.

The new exhibit is supposed to be ready in about a year.
