TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- The food is always a highlight at the Tulsa State Fair. What's on a stick; what's fried; what's new?
An area company has turned fair food - and who could eat the most - into a contest.
They were all decked out in their competition T-shirts Tuesday as the folks from Waller and Company got ready to eat.
The group had to simply eat as many items as they could in four hours at the fair. Everything from fried cheese curds to chocolate covered bacon. Nothing was off limits.
The official scorecard had 16 blanks. Participants had to write down everything they ate.
The game was on when the first competitor, Haley, bit down into a corn dog. "I've got to stay focused," she said with a mouthful.
Some of the fair food the participants encountered during the four hours were mashed potatoes on a stick, gator on stick and of course the notorious Krispy Kreme burger.
In the end, the winner of the competition, Jordan Guthmann, ate 20 items at the Tulsa State Fair.
