TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- The Oklahoma State Department of Education is meeting in Tulsa this week in one of two monthly meetings held away from Oklahoma City.
Not only are they meeting in Tulsa, but they are holding their meeting at Tulsa's Carver Middle School at 624 East Oklahoma Place.
Along with their meeting, state department of education officials will also tour the school's classrooms.
"The state board of education is excited to bring its monthly meeting to George Washington Carver Middle School," said state superintendent Sandy Garrett. "Carver is a national Blue Ribbon School, is aligned with the International Baccalaureate program, and is an impressive school of choice. The board looks forward to this special opportunity to tour its facilities and visit with its staff and students."
Garrett said the board attempts to visit schools as often as it can.
The board, which meets monthly for regular meetings, visited Crescent Public Schools in Logan County for its February 4, 2010 meeting.
The meeting at Carver will be at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
