TULSA, Oklahoma -- A five vehicle pile-up Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 169 near 41st Street backed up traffic for miles.
The accident happened at about 2:00 p.m.
Officers with the Tulsa Police Department say a dump truck rear-ended a car, triggering a chain reaction.
Officers say two cars caught fire. Everyone was able to escape without getting burned.
However, EMSA reports they transported three people to a Tulsa hospital in fair condition. Two people refused treatment at the scene.
Police closed the southbound lanes of Highway 169 for a short time, causing traffic to be backed up.
