FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS -- A missing Fort Smith woman has been found dead in eastern Oklahoma.
The body of 22-year-old Briana Ault was found by a fisherman near a pond at about 6 p.m. Monday in Pocola.
KFSM in Fort Smith reports Ault was last seen early Monday when she left a bar and told friends she was meeting a man.
Her car was found burning in south Fort Smith at about 5 a.m. Monday.
Officials say there injuries on Ault's body, but they declined to disclose the specific nature of the injuries.
Officials with Pocola Police, the LeFlore County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the crime.
Authorities remained at the crime scene throughout the night.
Fort Smith Police say they are looking for the man Ault was to meet. His name was not released.
