JENKS, OK---Today high school foreign exchange students from Chengdu, China visited a Jenks farm to broaden their view of American life.
‘We are hosting the Chinese exchange students from Chengdu Number 7,' said Jenks Agriculture Education teacher Coleman Hickman, ‘we've done it for three years now and we just give them a taste our Oklahoma agriculture and what we do at Jenks FFA.'
The students were shown horses, goats, lambs and chickens by the officers of Jenks FFA.
‘The animals are very nice, they are easy to get along with,' said Genny Chen, ‘I give them food and they just seem to smile to us.'
The Jenks students were happy to be able to explain agriculture to the city-dwelling Chinese students.
‘They get to know more about animals they don't get to see in China,' said FFA student Rachel Seabolt, ‘we can teach them and also get to know how to show off out animals better.'
