TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy shot a man who tried to run him over Wednesday afternoon, according to the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.
TSCO said the man matches the description of a burglary suspect authorities are looking for. They said the deputy saw the man's vehicle on I-44 under the Highway 75 overpass. TCSO said the man tried to run over the deputy when he approached the vehicle.
The deputy fired shots into the car, but the man drove off.
Authorities received a tip that the man was at the Peoria Inn at 1300 E Skelly Drive in Tulsa. Deputies found the man inside a room at the motel.
"The interesting fact is he actually went to the office of the hotel and checked himself in," said Sergeant Shannon Clark, Tulsa County Sheriff's Office. "He paid for the room, signed the card, checked in with a bullet hole in his shoulder and then he went to the room just like any other person would check into a hotel."
The man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. His name has not been released.
Investigators are working to confirm he is the burglary suspect they were initially trying to arrest.
