CLAREMORE, OKLAHOMA -- State Health officials say a case of meningitis at a Claremore Elementary School does not pose any danger to staff or students.
School officials say they received confirmation Sunday evening that a staff member at Claremont Elementary School, who was admitted to a hospital last week, has meningitis.
Health officials stressed this strain of meningitis is not the same strain that claimed the lives of two students in the Oologah-Talala School district earlier this year. Claremore is only about 12 miles from Oologah.
The school staff member had limited contact with students and there are no special precautions needed in this case and no special antibiotics will be issued to anyone.
