TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- A 49-year-old Sapulpa woman is dead after her SUV drove off the Creek Turnpike east of Peoria and flipped forward into an underpass Thursday morning.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say a bicyclist riding on a nearby exercise path spotted the upside down SUV at about 6:30 a.m. The exact time of the accident was unknown.
Troopers say sometime early Thursday morning the Chevrolet Blazer, which was westbound on the turnpike, went off the roadway and onto the grass.
The SUV continued westbound in the grass for over 500 feet until it hit a fence and flipped forward, falling 20 feet and landing on its top below the overpass at 101st Place, a dead end road.
Troopers identified the driver as Lisa Miller. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
