TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa homeowner was shot in the stomach in what police say was an attempted home invasion. The shooting took place at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of North Frankfort.

Captain Shawn King with the Tulsa Police Department said two men in their early teens approached the 57-year-old homeowner in his front yard.

"He blocked them from getting in the house - saved his wife from having to encounter the bad guys," King said.

The teens fired another round into the house before running away. King said the second shot narrowly missed the man's wife.

The victim was taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition. Tulsa Police believe he will survive the gunshot wound.

If you know anything that can help Tulsa Police make an arrest in this case, call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS. Callers remain anonymous.
