Tulsa Street Shut Down After Semi Hits Bridge

TULSA, OKLAHOMA -- Eastbound and westbound traffic on 31st Street near the Broken Arrow Expressway in Tulsa was shut down Wednesday evening after a semi truck hit a bridge under the expressway.

The accident happened just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Tulsa Police told the News On 6 the semi cleared the first two girders of the bridge, but hit the third girder. The accident trapped an SUV under the semi trailer.

Neither the driver of the truck nor the driver of the SUV were injured.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation inspected the bridge for damage.
