UNDATED -- Friday was back to school for students at Union, Sand Springs and Sapulpa school districts.

Law enforcement says drivers are reminded to slow down, obey speed limits in school zones and be cautious around school buses.

More than half of Oklahoma's students are in elementary school and AAA hopes it's "School's Open, Drive Carefully" campaign will help keep them safe.

AAA urges motorists to:

  • Follow the speed limit.
  • Look for AAA School Safety Patrollers
  • Come to a complete stop at intersections with stop signs.
  • Always stop for loading or unloading school busses.
  • Eliminate driver distraction.
  • Plan Ahead.

Six in the Morning is requesting viewers' back-to-school photos, and the morning show has been showing the pics on air. If you've got a back to school picture, send it to us at http://www.pics@newson6.net. Be sure to put the word school in the subject line.
