CLAREMORE, OK -- A flight nurse for the Air Evac Lifeteam crew in Claremore has been selected as the 2010 Region 4 Nurse of the Year.
In a news release, Greg Poirer was chosen from employees from bases in Arkansas, Oklahoma and some in Missouri.
According to the release, the Regional Nurse of the Year award is presented to the nurse who works as a team player, demonstrates a desire to increase their knowledge and skills and pursues opportunities to promote Air Evac Lifeteam in the community.
"Greg joined Air Evac Lifeteam early last year," explained Regional Director of Base Operations Judy Dyke. "The crew at his base says he is always available to do whatever is needed to support the base and keep them flying. He consistently maintains a positive and 'can do' attitude that serves to motivate the rest of them to try a little hard to see that things get done.
"He responds when needed in a timely manner, despite his busy schedule. He strives for ways to improve his own performance in order to better assist the base. His is a valuable asset to the base and a credit to their team," Dyke said.
Poirer has worked for Air Evac Lifeteam since July 2009.
Air Evac operates 93 bases in 14 states.
