TULSA, OK -- Students at Kendall-Whitter Elementary will have some extra school supplies when they return to the classroom.
The University of Tulsa donated things like hand sanitizer, crayons and paper. It was enough to fill more than 1,000 bags of school supplies for students.
"We have a lot of resources here and there are a lot of needs in the neighborhood so we will and a university partner, a community partner, we need to be in the neighborhood doing what we can to help make the neighborhood a great place," Mike Mills, University of Tulsa, said.
TU students and staff worked together Tuesday to fill the bags before the first day of school this Thursday.
