We're into August and the dog days of summer. Where has the year gone? The 2010 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is coming up soon. It's set for Saturday, September 25th at the CityPlex Towers at 81st & Lewis. Channel 6 is once again a sponsor and I'm so proud of their support.
I'm coming up on my seven year anniversary in November and I'm looking forward to being part of this year's race. I plan on having a team and hope you will get involved as well! There are so many ways to participate. You don't have to be a runner to race. (I'm not!) There's a fun run, an untimed walk and even the sleep walkers. They're the ones who donate money then sleep in the morning of the race! You can bring your family, join a team or race competitively in the sanctioned 5K. You choose!
You've got plenty of time to get registered! You can form your own team or join mine. I'd love for you to walk with me on race day and show your support. Over the next eight weeks, I'll be featuring some great stories about people in the Green Country area who've been touched by breast cancer and what they are doing in this fight! So stay tuned… it's going to be a busy two months!
